Comment on New Year's honours
Leader of Leeds City Council Councillor Judith Blake said:
“Congratulations to all the Leeds and Yorkshire recipients of New Year’s honours. It is great to see the work by Councillor Keith Wakefield who has served Leeds and the wider region for more than 25 years being recognised in this way, along with Leeds City Council’s former director of adult social care Sandie Keene and the headteacher of Roundhay School Neil Clephan for their unstinting efforts over many years.
"It is also very pleasing to see honours for Professor Susan Price for her vital leadership and guidance at Leeds Beckett University, Clare Harrigan for her work at Leeds College of Building, Mary Brewer for more than 30 years in crime prevention in the city and Asad Razzaq for the fantastic work he is doing with young people in Harehills. These honours are very much deserved so well done to them all.”
