Don’t miss out on chance to sponsor three community public bonfires

Time is running out for businesses in Leeds to sponsor three public bonfires in East End Park, Bramley Park and Woodhouse Moor next month as part of celebrations in the city to mark Bonfire Night.

As is tradition, six free community bonfires will be held by Leeds City Council this November at Roundhay Park, Middleton Park, Springhead Park in Rothwell, along with Woodhouse Moor, East End Park and Bramley Park, which perfect for all the family, attract approximately 200,000 visitors every year in total. This year the public bonfires to mark Bonfire Night will be taking place on Friday 4 November. With sponsorship already secured for the bonfires at Roundhay Park, Middleton Park and Springhead Park, businesses can now support their local community and enjoy a range of promotional and advertising opportunities by sponsoring individual events taking place in Woodhouse, East End Park and Bramley. Sponsoring the largest bonfire at Roundhay Park this year is the Yorkshire Magical Lantern Festival, who will be putting on a spectacular Chinese Lantern Festival at the park from 25 November 2016 – 2 January 2017.

Also providing support to the city’s community bonfire events is the White Rose Shopping Centre, who are sponsoring the bonfire at Middleton Park, and for the first time, Springhead Park bonfire. They have also invited local children to enter a ‘Design a Poster’ competition for the event closest to them, with the main prize being to light one of the bonfires! Councillor Lucinda Yeadon, Leeds City Council’s executive member for the environment and sustainability, said:

“Every year we offer community-minded businesses the opportunity to support their local bonfires by sponsoring an event and I am delighted to say that the response so far has been really positive. Already we have sponsors for the Roundhay Park, Middleton Park and Springhead Park events, but the great news is that there is still chance to get involved by sponsoring Woodhouse, East End Park and Bramley bonfires.

“We already have a very successful partnership with the White Rose Shopping Centre who having sponsored the Middleton Park bonfire for several years now are now supporting the Springhead Park event, and we are now really pleased to be partnering up with the Magical Lantern Festival, Yorkshire at Roundhay Park. We would be delighted to speak to other community-minded businesses regarding how they can support the bonfires in other areas of the city.
