Information on council parks sites affected by coronavirus

Coronavirus Parks and countryside

We continue to follow national guidance around managing the impact of Coronavirus (Covid-19) and the following parks venues are currently closed:

  • Tropical World including the café and shop
  • Wildlife World at Lotherton will be closed. Lotherton Hall, café, shops and the Hall, the wider estate will remain open to the public and entry charges will be suspended for a temporary period.
  • Golden Acre Park, café and shop
  • Pudsey Visitor Centre
  • Temple Newsam, Home Farm, café and Mrs Pawson’s shop and Temple Newsam House
  • The Arium, café and shop

Our team has been working hard to welcome you all in the last few weeks, but the safety and wellbeing of our visitors and staff is always our first priority. We will monitor developments and follow government guidance on when it may be appropriate for us to reopen.

Green Spaces and parks still open and accessible

We recognise that people are likely to need access to open space and to nature, history and heritage. We are working hard to keep our gardens, parks and green spaces open and accessible to people in line with UK Government and Public Health England guidelines around social distancing.

Whilst indoor areas are closed some toilet facilities will remain open and we are taking extra care with enhanced cleaning procedures and have significantly increased the frequency of the cleaning we undertake throughout the day in our public toilets.

Over the coming weeks we will do all that we can to keep on providing access wherever possible but this is a changing situation and we are strictly following Government advice so please keep checking our website and social media before you visit. The wellbeing of our staff, volunteers and visitors remains our top concern.

In the meantime, we will continue to share stories about the work that we do through our social media accounts and website. We thank you for your continued support, and look forward to welcoming you all back.
