Statement on the decision to refuse planning permission for Bagley Lane/Kirklees Knoll
Leeds City Council executive member for neighbourhoods, planning and personnel Councillor Peter Gruen said:
“I am very pleased to see this appeal to the government concerning Bagley Lane has been rejected, which confirms the original recommendation made by Leeds City Council’s plans panel. This decision reinforces the importance of having an adopted Core Strategy, a five-year land supply and proposals for producing a Site Allocations Plan, as made clear by the inspector. The length of time it has taken the Secretary of State to reach this point has been disappointing and caused some anxiety for the local community, but we are pleased this matter has now been resolved.”
