Series of events show that communities can
A series of events will be taking place next week to show what the council and communities can achieve when they work together to improve neighbourhoods.
The Communities Can week, organised by Housing Leeds, includes a host of fun activities aimed at demonstrating the importance residents play in improving their communities.
The week kicks off with the Little London Community fun day on 23 July, with other events taking place in Burmantofts, Moor Allerton and Beckhills amongst many others.
Councillor Debra Coupar, executive member for communities, said:
“The events organised for Communities Can week are a great way to bring different people together to have fun, try something new or get advice and all centred on the idea of how we can work together to shape a better future for each area.
“With talent shows, estate walkabouts, food stalls and sports, Communities Can week is not only bound be a great day out, but an important way for us to gather feedback and help communities rally round a common goal.”
