City’s museums receive essential funding boost
Museums in Leeds have secured almost a million pounds in funding to help safeguard their future and support a series of transformational projects at historic sites across the city.
Leeds Museums and Galleries have today been awarded a total of £952,000 following a successful bid for a share of the Museum Renewal Fund distributed by Arts Council England.

Gallery calls on kids to make some noise about art in Leeds
Leeds Art Gallery is giving the city’s young art lovers something to shout about this summer by joining a campaign encouraging kids to express themselves during special “shush-free” events.
The gallery will be taking part in Kids Aloud, a popular initiative from Art Fund, the national charity for museums and galleries, by inviting children to be lively and energetic in the gallery space.

Call to help support city’s museums through new donation scheme
Council-run museums and galleries in Leeds are launching a new donation scheme enabling visitors to support some of the city’s most popular cultural gems.
From June 17, four of the council’s eight sites will introduce “Give What You Can” donation points, where visitors can choose to make a contribution to boost the ongoing care and conservation of the city’s remarkable venues and collections.

Art lovers in Leeds have the chance to step inside a groundbreaking urban light and sound installation thanks to the latest VR technology.
A Light and Sound Transit by Berlin-based artist, sound sculptor and composer Hans Peter Kuhn had transformed Neville Street in Leeds city centre, where it was installed as a temporary public artwork.
